Booking an Appointment
Your session can be reserved by contacting Debi personally by phone or email. Sessions are typically conducted in the studio, however you may also request a session on location for a small additional charge. At this time, payment of a retainer in the amount of the session fee will be made by cash, check, or credit card and is due AT the time of reservation.. Upon arrival for your portraits, your retainer will be applied to the session fee.

If you must cancel your appointment, doing so at least 48 hours in advance will allow your retainer to be refunded or your appointment to be rescheduled. Cancellation less than 48 hours before your scheduled time or failure to show for your appointment will result in forfeiture of this retainer.

Session fee
This fee covers my time for the session, talent, and time devoted to personal service to the client as well as expenses... no prints are included. This charge is separate from the cost of the portraits you select. Gift certificates used towards your session fee must be surrendered at the time of booking to hold your session.

Your Session
Your session is expected to take less than an hour, but up to 2 hours are reserved for you so that you never feel rushed and have time for feeding, changing, comforting. I allow time and privacy for those occasions. Sessions may take place in studio or outdoors, and I rarely schedule more than two sessions per day so that you may pick the time when your child or family is happiest.
Each session is intended for one main subject (person) and may include poses with additional people (mother and child, mother and dad) - but please do not bring more than 2 additional persons to your session. It is much easier to get great portraits if there is a relaxed atmosphere, so please do not invite anyone along who may distract or make you feel uncomfortable.

Style and color of clothes
Black and white portraits look best in solid color clothing. Light or dark tone is your choice. If there is more than one person, try to keep the colors in the same tone (all light or all dark). Denim works great for bottoms, as do black or khaki. T-shirts work very nice for a casual portrait!

I recommend bare-feet most of the time...

Maternity portraits look best with soft, light colored, flowing clothes. Favorites are long flowing night gowns, button down white shirts. Do not look "too made up" or overly dressy, too much makeup or unnatural hairdos can distract from the specialness of your pregnancy we are trying to capture.

For newborns (and sometimes even children), I suggest that parents come prepared to be part of the images in solid color shirts with hair and nails groomed (natural color)... even if you don't intend to, you are often used as a prop!

I do have a few things in the studio for maternity and mom's and girls aged 1 - 3.

Portrait viewing
Your images will be ready for presenting in about a week. We will set up a time to meet (usually at the client's home for convenience), view the proofs and place your order. Alternatively, an online presentation of your proofs can be arranged and will be viewable for 5 days. Orders should be placed during this time. Please be prepared to place your order at the time of presentation. If more time is needed to decide on your order, we will discuss arrangements for that.

Ordering Prints
50% of the purchase price is due on the day you place the order. This down payment is non-refundable as these are custom items that you are ordering. Please be prepared to place your order within a few days of the viewing. Prints may take up to 3 weeks to be ready for pick up. Handcolored images will take longer.

  • Portrait orders and re-orders each have minimum purchase requirements... please contact.
  • Photo treasures are unique ways to enjoy your images (such as jewelry) and can be purchased after a minimum print order is placed.
  • Your order is encouraged in the first few days after your proof presentation:
    • 30 days after your session, client files/paperwork are archived. All of your images require reprocessing once archived, so orders, initial and reorders, after this time are subject to a reprocessing fee.
    • Specials, discounts, giveaways, contests are valid only for 30 days after your session. After this time, your order is subject to the current pricing and policies, including any reprocessing fees.
    • The session images collection can be purchased at a discount according to your order total and are available only for 30 days at the initial order.
    • Price and policies at the time of your session/booking are in effect for 30 days after the session. Any order after 30 days from your session will fall under the current pricing schedule and policies.

Handcoloring
Handcoloring service is the ultimate way to specialize your portrait. It gives a timeless and soft look to portraits and creates a mood not achieved by photography alone. Soft color is hand painted onto special photo paper for a one of a kind piece. The preferences and amount of coloring will be discussed at time of order.

Receive and pay for order
Order is to be paid in full before receiving photos. I accept cash, Visa and Mastercard, and personal checks at my discretion (photos may be held until your check clears).
